What They Are Looking For
The business is seeking a Senior Civil Quantity Surveyor based in Tipperary to support and lead commercial delivery across multiple infrastructure projects throughout Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Offaly, and Kilkenny. Reporting directly to senior commercial leadership, this role offers the opportunity to step into a Senior QS position with a clear pathway toward managing multiple key projects across the region.
This position will suit an ambitious project-level QS with strong experience in civil, energy, and/or water infrastructure projects in Ireland who is ready to elevate into a senior leadership capacity. The role will combine tendering, live project commercial management, site measurement, and subcontractor oversight, ensuring commercial discipline across a growing regional portfolio.
The successful candidate will balance office-based commercial planning with structured site presence—typically 1–2 days in the office, 2 days on the largest live project, and monthly oversight visits to smaller regional sites.

Responsibilities

Lead commercial management of civil infrastructure projects from tender through to final account.

Prepare and manage detailed cost plans, CVRs, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.

Carry out site measurement of civil works to support valuations and cost control.

Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, appointment, and payment processes.

Support and contribute to tender preparation for projects valued up to €10m.

Oversee materials procurement and cost tracking across multiple live projects.

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to ensure commercial alignment.

Identify and mitigate commercial risks across energy and water infrastructure environments.
Criteria for the Role

3+ years of experience as an Intermediate or Project QS within civil, energy, or water infrastructure projects in Ireland.

Strong understanding of civil works associated with renewable energy grid packages and/or wastewater treatment projects.

Ambition to step into a Senior QS role with multi-project oversight.

Proven capability in tendering, site measurement, subcontractor management, and cost reporting.

Strong commercial awareness with negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
