Job Description
GEDON Executive is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Contractor or Consultancy in Dublin, Ireland. This is a key commercial role focused on managing the financial and contractual aspects of complex building services packages across diverse sectors.
With a competitive salary of up to €70,000, this position is ideal for a commercially astute professional ready to take ownership of high-value M&E packages.
Key Responsibilities

Commercial Management: Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and prepare detailed Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) specifically for Mechanical and Electrical/Building Services packages.

Contract Administration: Administer subcontracts and assist with the main contract, ensuring compliance with contractual terms (e.g., RIAI, JCT).

Valuations & Payments: Prepare and submit accurate monthly valuations/applications for payment and manage the entire payment process for the specialist M&E supply chain.

Change Control: Proactively measure, value, and negotiate variations and change orders specific to M&E scope changes and technical requirements.

Procurement: Oversee procurement activities for specialist M&E equipment and subcontractors, managing tender analysis and contract finalization.

Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with technical specifications and complex M&E installations.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate commercial records for auditing purposes.
What You'll Bring

Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor (typically 3+ years) within a M&E Contractor, Main Contractor M&E division, or Consultancy environment in Ireland or the UK.

Sector Expertise: Direct commercial experience with Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) or Building Services packages is essential.

Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a focus on meticulous cost control and effective negotiation.

Contractual Knowledge: Working knowledge of standard construction contracts used in the Irish market (RIAI, JCT).

Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
