Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management: Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and prepare detailed Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) specifically for Mechanical and Electrical/Building Services packages.

  • Contract Administration: Administer subcontracts and assist with the main contract, ensuring compliance with contractual terms (e.g., RIAI, JCT).

  • Change Control: Proactively measure, value, and negotiate variations and change orders specific to M&E scope changes and technical requirements.

  • Procurement: Oversee procurement activities for specialist M&E equipment and subcontractors, managing tender analysis and contract finalization.

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with technical specifications and complex M&E installations.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate commercial records for auditing purposes.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor (typically 3+ years) within a M&E Contractor, Main Contractor M&E division, or Consultancy environment in Ireland or the UK.

  • Sector Expertise: Direct commercial experience with Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) or Building Services packages is essential.

  • Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a focus on meticulous cost control and effective negotiation.

  • Contractual Knowledge: Working knowledge of standard construction contracts used in the Irish market (RIAI, JCT).

  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.

What Our Client Offers
