  • Contractual Leadership: Lead high-stakes contractual negotiations, manage tender contract finalization, and provide expert guidance on the interpretation and administration of major Irish and International contracts (RIAI, GCCC, JCT, FIDIC).

  • Claims & Dispute Management: Strategically manage all major claims, disputes, and high-value variation negotiations, taking ultimate responsibility for protecting the company's commercial and contractual position.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the entire Commercial team (Commercial Managers, Senior QSs), focusing on succession planning, professional development, and enhancing commercial acumen across the organization.

  • Risk Management: Establish and monitor advanced risk management protocols, identifying latent commercial risks and developing mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle.

  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the senior commercial representative for the company with key clients, partners, and financial stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships are maintained to secure repeat business.

What You'll Bring

  • Executive Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience in senior commercial leadership roles (e.g., Commercial Director, Head of Commercial, or Lead SQS managing a large portfolio) within a Tier 1 Contractor or Major Developer in Ireland or the UK.

  • Commercial Acumen: Exceptional strategic thinking, negotiation, and financial management skills, with a proven track record of delivering sustained commercial excellence and profitability.

  • Contractual Expertise: Expert-level knowledge and practical experience with standard construction contracts used in the Irish market (RIAI, GCCC) and strong familiarity with other international forms.
