This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in securing significant projects across various sectors.
As a SMP Estimator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of cost estimates for a wide range of structural, mechanical, and piping works, ensuring competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for SMP components of major projects.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine scope and requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop detailed bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities within the estimate.
- Collaborate closely with bid teams, including engineering, procurement, and project management.
- Present clear and concise cost estimates and reports to senior management.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current market rates and industry trends within the Australian SMP sector.
What They Are Looking For:
- Extensive experience as an SMP Estimator within the construction or engineering industries in Australia.
- Proven track record of successfully estimating SMP works for large-scale projects.
- In-depth knowledge of SMP materials, fabrication processes, and installation methodologies.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach with a strong commercial acumen.
