Job Description

About Our Client

We are partnered with a highly respected Tier 2 Irish building main contractor with a strong presence across Dublin and the wider Leinster region. The business is known for delivering high-quality projects across commercial, healthcare, conservation, and complex refurbishment sectors, underpinned by strong governance, safety leadership, and technical excellence.

Operating in stakeholder-sensitive environments, the organisation has built a reputation for programme certainty, quality workmanship, and collaborative delivery. Their leadership team places strong emphasis on safety, systems, and people development, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest professional standards.

As a financially stable and well-established contractor, they offer senior operational leaders the opportunity to take ownership of multi-project portfolios while working closely with executive leadership on delivery strategy and continuous improvement.

What They Are Looking For

The business is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join its Dublin-based senior management team. Reporting directly to the Contracts Director and Managing Director, this role will take responsibility for overseeing multiple live projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, and within agreed commercial parameters.

This position has been created to support a growing pipeline of secured work and increasing project complexity. The successful candidate will provide leadership across site teams, drive programme performance, maintain rigorous safety and quality standards, and act as the key link between site operations and head office functions.

This role will suit a confident, commercially aware construction leader who enjoys managing multiple stakeholders, leading delivery teams, and taking accountability for end-to-end project outcomes.

Why This Role Is Unique (Impact & Influence)

This is a senior operational leadership role offering significant autonomy and influence across a diverse project portfolio. The successful candidate will shape delivery strategy, mentor site leadership teams, and work closely with executive management to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across all projects. The role provides long-term stability and the opportunity to play a key part in the contractor’s continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple projects to ensure delivery to programme, budget, and agreed handover milestones.

  • Take overall responsibility for site safety performance, working closely with the Safety Manager and ensuring compliance with company EHS systems and statutory regulations.

  • Prepare, issue, and monitor construction programmes; liaise with design and project teams regarding progress, changes, and variations.

  • Represent the business at site and client meetings, preparing and presenting contractor reports, progress updates, and information schedules.

  • Monitor quality of works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and best practice standards.

  • Coordinate project staffing requirements with the Contracts Director.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of site records, including diaries, allocation sheets, and advice forms.

  • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership, including weekly site and project reports.

  • Liaise with commercial, purchasing, and head office teams to ensure timely provision of reports, records, and support services.

Criteria for the Role

  • Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years’ experience in senior construction management roles, including at least 3 years as a Contracts Manager within a main contractor environment.

  • Proven leadership capability with strong communication, negotiation, and team management skills.

  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction requirements.

  • Commercially astute, proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Highly organised with excellent time management and decision-making skills.

What’s On Offer

A competitive salary in the €95,000–€115,000 range, dependent on experience.
The opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of high-quality construction projects across Dublin.
A senior leadership role within a stable Tier 2 contractor with a strong delivery reputation.
Ongoing professional development, executive visibility, and a collaborative management culture.
