What They Are Looking For

Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Dublin-based commercial team. The role sits within the core project delivery function and reports directly to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, depending on project size and structure.

This appointment has been created due to sustained project wins and an expanding pipeline of work. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of live projects, supporting cost control, procurement, and contractual compliance from pre-contract through to final account.

This role will suit a commercially astute QS who is confident working in a contractor environment, enjoys taking ownership of packages, and wants to continue developing toward a Senior QS position within a structured and supportive organisation.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the commercial management of construction projects from award through to final account

• Preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts

• Measurement, valuations, and cost reporting

• Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and appointments

• Administering contracts and supporting change management processes

• Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts

• Supporting risk identification and mitigation strategies

• Liaising with site teams, consultants, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are met

Criteria for the Role

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

• 3–6+ years’ experience in a contractor or consultancy environment

• Experience working on medium to large-scale construction projects

• Strong understanding of cost control, procurement, and contract administration

• Commercially aware with strong numerical and analytical skills

• Confident communicator with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders

• Ambition to progress toward a Senior Quantity Surveyor role
