What They Are Looking For

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Dublin-based pre-construction team. The role sits at a senior level within the estimating function and reports directly to the Estimating Manager or Commercial Director.

This appointment has been created due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming tenders. The successful candidate will take a lead role in preparing competitive tenders, shaping bid strategy, and supporting successful project awards across multiple sectors.

This role will suit a commercially astute estimator who is confident leading bids, enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, and wants to play a key role in influencing the future workload of the business.

Responsibilities

• Leading the preparation of competitive tenders from initial enquiry through submission

• Developing and managing detailed cost plans and estimates

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and scope documentation

• Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing

• Assessing risk, opportunity, and value engineering options

• Supporting bid strategy, programme input, and commercial assumptions

• Preparing tender presentations and post-tender clarifications

• Working closely with commercial, design, and delivery teams

• Supporting continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems

Criteria for the Role

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline

• Significant experience in an estimating role within a contractor environment

• Proven track record delivering successful tenders on medium to large-scale projects

• Strong commercial and numerical skills

• Ability to work across multiple bids concurrently

• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills

• Experience across multiple construction sectors preferred
