What They Are Looking For
Our client is seeking a Director of Cost (M&E) to lead and further develop their building services cost management capability in Dublin. The role sits at senior leadership level and reports directly to the regional or national leadership team.
This appointment has been driven by sustained growth, increasing demand for specialist M&E advisory services, and a strong forward pipeline of complex projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting strategy, leading teams, and overseeing the delivery of M&E cost management services across major programmes.
This role will suit a senior commercial leader with deep M&E expertise, strong client-facing capability, and the ability to balance strategic leadership with high-level technical oversight.

Responsibilities

Overall leadership of the M&E cost management function

Setting commercial strategy and governance standards for M&E services

Oversight of pre- and post-contract cost management on major projects

Leading client relationships and acting as a trusted senior advisor

Managing risk, value engineering, and cost certainty across complex schemes

Supporting business development and securing new client opportunities

Leading, mentoring, and developing senior and junior cost management teams

Ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with internal systems

Reporting at board and senior stakeholder level
Criteria for the Role

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar

Significant experience in senior M&E cost management roles

Proven leadership experience within a consultancy or client-side environment

Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems

Excellent commercial, contractual, and governance expertise

Confident communicator at executive and board level

Professional accreditation (RICS / SCSI) preferred
What’s On Offer
The role offers a base salary of up to €130,000, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive executive-level package.
