Position: Cost Planner / Senior

Company: Commercial Main Contractor

Location: Sydney, New South Wales

Reporting to: Estimating Manager

Team Dynamics

The Estimating team is detail-oriented, competitive, and enthusiastic about tackling exciting projects. The Cost Planner / Senior will play a critical role to the Estimating Manager, providing mentorship and development to the junior team members while actively contributing to the success of their tenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex tenders up to $200M
  • Oversee Extensive Cost Planning, Hard Dollar Tendering, ECI Negotiation, Subcontractor Analysis, Cost Benchmarking, and Forensic Cost Profiling
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of tender submissions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors
  • Work on diverse projects including Hospitals, Data Centres, Defence Facilities, and more, primarily within NSW

Software Requirement

Proficiency in CostX is imperative; experience with Bluebeam is also beneficial.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: 4-8 years of Quantity Surveying / Cost Planning experience in Australia.
  • Track Record: Proven experience working on projects valued between $30M - $50M.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and technical skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Mission Critical / Live Environment: Defence, Health, Data Centre, Pharma
