GEDON Executive is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Quantity Surveyor to join a prominent construction or consultancy firm in Dublin, Ireland. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to apply their expertise on a diverse portfolio of complex building services projects and contribute to the commercial success of a dynamic organization.

As a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor, you'll be instrumental in managing the commercial aspects of mechanical, electrical, and public health installations, providing expert cost advice and ensuring value for clients from a project's inception to its completion.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Cost Management: Prepare accurate cost plans, feasibility studies, and detailed estimates for MEP services across various project stages.

  • Procurement: Advise on procurement strategies, prepare tender documentation, and evaluate bids from M&E contractors.

  • Contract Administration: Administer M&E contracts, including the valuation of variations, interim payments, and final accounts.

  • Cost Control & Reporting: Monitor and control project costs, track expenditure, and provide comprehensive cost reports and forecasts to clients.

  • Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks related to MEP installations and advise on mitigation strategies.

  • Value Engineering: Proactively identify value engineering opportunities to optimize cost without compromising quality or performance.

  • Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and contractors, acting as a trusted commercial advisor.

 

What You'll Bring

 

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience (typically 7+ years) as an MEP Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy or a large M&E contractor in Ireland.

  • Technical Knowledge: A deep, technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems and their associated costs.

  • Commercial Acumen: Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Contractual Expertise: Solid knowledge of standard forms of contract relevant to building services in the Irish market.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., SCSI, RICS) is highly desirable.
