Job Description

GEDON Executive is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Preconstruction Project Manager to join a leading construction firm in Galway. This is a pivotal role for a proven professional to take the commercial and technical lead on projects from their earliest stages, ensuring a seamless and successful transition from concept to construction.

As a Preconstruction Project Manager, you will be the key link between the estimating, design, and operations teams. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are set up for success, managing all activities during the pre-construction phase, including budgeting, design coordination, value engineering, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Leadership: Lead the pre-construction process, managing budgets, and developing accurate cost plans and project estimates.

• Design Management: Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and clients to ensure designs are buildable, cost-effective, and aligned with project goals.

• Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate commercial, technical, and logistical risks early in the project lifecycle.

• Value Engineering: Lead value engineering workshops and provide expert advice on alternative solutions to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

• Tender & Procurement: Oversee the preparation of tender documentation, manage the subcontractor procurement process, and negotiate contracts.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal operations teams.

• Extensive Experience: Proven experience in a pre-construction, estimating, or project management role, with a strong background in the Irish construction market.

• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.

• Qualifications: A relevant degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
